Identify an arts organization of interest – look up their board membership. If an organization has a large board, you may focus on key members or select a different organization.
Write down the names of the board members.
Then, research this person and find out how they earn a living, or what they do for a living or business, and wire that down next to their name. If they are independently wealthy, write that down instead. Be prepared to do deeper research beyond their board profile if needed.
Assemble you list then write a short summary comparing them to each other. How many do not work or have a profession? How many own their own business or company? How many are BIPOC? Anything else of note.
For example, let’s look at this board:

Going down the list I can get some of what I’m looking for quickly.
Gaëtane Verna: Director of the Power Plant in Toronto is this person’s job.
So, far, this board has one person of color and who identifies as female, and who works a day job.
Email your board list, your summary, and a link to the board profile page.
