This semester course covers competencies that are required of school administrators in Texas. The activities throughout this course have been designed to help you gain understanding of the complex roles of principals in modern education. Another essential skill to effective leadership is reflective practice. This exercise is to provide you the opportunity to process the varied experiences you have undertaken during this course. Use the information from your pre-assessment activity at the beginning of the semester to discuss the following:
What two Competencies have you gained greater understanding this semester? Briefly explain what evidence you have to support this.
What two Competencies do you still have a need to grow in knowledge and understanding? What experiences could help close that gap?
Reflect on your principal’s effectiveness in the Competencies covered in this course. What leadership style or attributes do you perceive as being a trait you would emulate in your own building.
