Plan and prepare to write production material | Define script writing construction, style and formats required for the production and clients Script writing (or screenwriting) is the process of writing stories in the screenplay medium. Script writing is writing down the movement, actions, expression and dialogue of the characters in screenplay, in screenplay format. The process of writing a novel, a poem, or essay, is entirely different than script writing. In order to express yourself effectively for the screen, particular formatting methods are required. Screenplay format is used to express the story visually. Scriptwriters or screenwriters write for film, television, video games, and now even online web series. Script writing can be done for hire or on speculation in hopes to sell their screenplay or find an agent. | The student has defined script writing construction, style and formats required for the production and clients
The student has defined and develop ideas and concepts based on analysis of genre, audience and purpose The student has developed elements of narrative, including visual and aural components, dialogue and other communication techniques, such as symbols and icons, to convey information in production material |
|
Define and develop ideas and concepts based on analysis of genre, audience and purpose Defining the word genre is difficult. Sometimes, genres are defined by their structure alone (e.g., “A report has five parts: introduction, methods, results, discussion, and conclusion”). But this understanding of genre is too simplistic. Genres are not fixed or rigid patterns to be followed mechanically. They are not templates into which we insert sentences and paragraphs.
Develop elements of narrative, including visual and aural components, dialogue and other communication techniques, such as symbols and icons, to convey information in production material The Creative Arts K–6 is one of six key learning area syllabuses for the primary curriculum. This syllabus provides information about teaching and learning in Visual Arts, Music, Drama and Dance. It replaces three existing syllabuses: Music K–6 (1984), Visual Arts K–6 (1989) and Craft K–6 (1972). In response to consultation on the writing brief, this syllabus is called Creative Arts K–6, rather than taking the name of the key learning area, Creative and Practical Arts.
