Description
We are looking for a Finance Assistant for our friendly office in Stevenage (SG1) who will take responsibility for assisting our financial director to facilitate the smooth running within the financial department to our company.
Our company is a mechanical & electrical installation company in the heart of Stevenage, walking distance to all the amenities and shops which the high street offers.

The role will be consisting of:
Purchase Ledger :
- Receival of purchase invoices and fist checks
- Getting authorisation for payment,
- raises disputes with suppliers,
- Track credit notes.
- Reconciles supplier statements.
- Prepares payment run
- identifies invoices due for payment
- chase unauthorised invoices
Sales Ledger:
- Raise sales invoices,
- their entries into the system,
- credit control as and when needed
Banking
- Manage online banking and makes of all approved payments via online banking
- Completion of 4 different bank accounts reconciliations
Payroll
- Calculations of engineer payments via Time Station and getting authorisation for payment
- Managing Expenses
Tax
- Assistance on tax return preparation.
- Process CIS Returns
- CIS Statements
Other
- Purchase Order raising as and when needed
- Keeps track of company assets.
- Prepares appropriate schedules and reports as requested by directors
- Performs other duties as assigned from time to time by directors
What are we looking for?
- 2 years of Experience in using Sage Accounting Programme
- Strong awareness of how financial processes work and how they are connected
- Good Communications Skills
- Minimum 2 years Proven Finance Experience
- AAT Qualified or a Trainee
- Skills to identify problems with the accounts
- Confident enough to make changes and has a can-do attitude
- Dedicated, focused, honest
- Ability to perform several tasks with ease
Experience:
- Financial Services: 2 years (Preferred)
