Learning Aim C: Carry out a pitch for funding for the chosen micro-business
C.P5. Pitch for funding to start up a micro-business
Note:
- Ensure your presentation slides are a good detailed summary of the business, with detailed speaker notes to support each slide of the presentation.
- Include an overall evaluation, as well as a slide where you explain share ownership/ voting rights/% of shareholder/ investment requirements/ control willing to give up in return for investment.
- Include information about the product or service to be sold- regarding features, benefits and USP, its cost, and how much you will sell it for and the current competition in the market.
- Ensure to carry out a professional presentation, with a formal behaviour and conduct of the presenter, e.g. attire, attitude, business-like skills, suitable for audience, well prepared keeping in mind negotiation and communication skills.
- You should have provided appropriate documents and materials that aredetailed, appropriate, and relate to individual business proposal including business plan, cost structure, market research data, marketing plan, competitor analysis, risk analysis. (Atleast 4 for pass)
- You should have provided documentation to support funding investment including draft profit and loss statement, figures for gross and net profit margins, potential return on investment. (Atleast 2 for pass)
- You should have provided evidence of exploration of potential questions and answers from potential investors, including risk, expectations for return, share of ownership in the business. (Atleast 2 for pass)
C.P6. Review the viability and risks of the start-up using audience feedback.
Note:
- You should have designed a coherent plan, comprising key sections and answers to questions on your plan with conclusion.
- Based on the feedback you receive on the business content of the pitch, analyse feedback and make amendments accordingly.
P.S.: After the learner has submitted the ppt along with the pitch/presentation video recording and received the reviews and further amendments made to his/her work, then include this part of Learning Aim C (both C.P5 and C.P6 which has been worked on ppt with speaker notes) as screenshots that needs to be placed on the word document/assignment file along with the work of Learning Aim A and B for final submission on ULearn portal so that it is finally considered for assessment and grading purposes.
