Address the question: “What possible cultural and/or social circumstance within early Christianity may have influenced the acceptance of a canon with four gospels rather than a single gospel? As this is a “critical reflection”, students are expected engage with, and provide citations from, the set readings from weeks 1-4. All citations must be formatted according to the Chicago Manual of Style 17. In a separate attachment I have included: Lectures Weeks 1-4 Readings Weeks 1-3.
