The intersection of HipHop and sport culture is prominent in American culture. Through endorsements, commercials, live sport production, and sport entertainment events, HipHop culture and its figures serves as focal points for athletes and spectators alike. HipHop’s presence holds an existential value that measures beyond the entertainment factor. In a 2-3 page formal analysis, students will examine the economical and sociocultural impact of the 2022 Superbowl Halftime Show. In their analysis, students will examine the marketing approach of the show regarding location, artists lineup, and economic impact of the show; the visual interpretation of the performance regarding costumes and choreography of the performers; and the lyrical content of the songs performed during the show.
The papers that will receive full credit will be the papers that integrate theory learned from the class and specific references from your assigned article (The Hip Hop Mindset Chapter 6) into your response.
