My personality type is ESFJ-A. With this leadership style, they lead with empathy, compassion, and a focus on relationships. That seriously hit the nail right on the head with how my leadership style is. I coach my employees on the spot but in a way, I know they will benefit from. I also make sure to have compassion for them when they do something wrong because they are having a bad mental health day and are struggling. I will never be that type of manager that only thinks about the business. The wellbeing of the employees is just as important as the business if not more so. ESFJs prioritize the well-being for their team members and strive to create a positive work environment based on trust and collaboration (Simkus J, 2024). Sometimes being too compassionate can effective my leadership style for the bad, however knowing the balance is important.

My personality test result is an Advocate. Idealistic and principled, people with the INFJ personality type (Advocates) aren’t content to coast through life – they want to stand up and make a difference. For these compassionate personalities, success doesn’t come from money or status but from seeking fulfillment, helping others, and being a force for good in the world. (Limited, 2024) People with this personality type care about integrity, and they’re rarely satisfied until they’ve done what they know to be right.

These qualities are pretty consistent with my style. I am often trying to look at the bright side of things and that everyone deserves a chance. There are qualities that often distract me from effective leadership like managers, who dislike wielding their power, we prefer to think of everyone as equals, no matter what a person’s business card might say. Rather than micromanage their subordinates. I often prefer to empower them to think and act independently. We tend to work hard to encourage others and promote an atmosphere of mutual respect, that tends to lead by example, consistently displaying a high level of integrity and dedication.
