- Length: 12 pages (minimum 3,000 words)
Excludes title page, table of contents, and references. - Formatting:
- Double-spaced
- APA citation format (7th edition)
- File Format: Upload as a Microsoft Word document only

Topic Selection
Choose a data breach or security incident that occurred between 2021 and the present. Your chosen incident should align with your interests, e.g., if you’re into gaming, research breaches in the gaming industry; if you’re studying accounting, explore breaches in financial or banking sectors.
- International incidents are encouraged—don’t limit yourself to U.S.-based companies.
- Disqualified topics: Incidents unrelated to cybersecurity (e.g., Enron, stolen laptops, or simple human error without a breach) will receive zero credit.
- Avoid overused cases (e.g., Target 2013, Home Depot 2014, Sony 2011, LinkedIn 2012, Facebook 2018, T-Mobile 2018, CapitalOne, Uber, Sony PlayStation, Twitch 2021).
