Discuss this quotation in the context of digital disruption by investigating a particular company or industry of your choice. Examine and explain and how they have achieved these levels of customer value and costs using information systems. You will need to check your choice of company with your lecturer to ensure it is appropriate and that it has not been chosen by another student (each student should choose a different company).

Topic 2

There is little doubt that the taxi industry has been greatly impacted by the arrival of disruptive companies like Uber, Lyft and Ola. These companies have harnessed the power of information systems to create new business models.

What is the next Uber/Taxi paradigm? Chose an industry to investigate, give examples and justify your viewpoint.

Topic 3

Choose an organisation from your home country and analyse how cultural context affects the use of information systems and the uptake of digital disruption. The organisation might be a business, NGO or government organisation. Some cultures are open to change whereas others may find it more challenging. Make sure you take into consideration the issues such as cultural values and norms, connectivity, infrastructure and financial implications (but not limited to these issues). Use specific examples to support and justify your ideas.
