The college considers this form of cheating as a serious offence. Therefore be forewarned!
Guidelines for writing Analytical Essay on Financial Market Issues
Introduction:
Analytical essay is a short piece of writing that discusses, describes or analyzes one topic. Analytical essay means gathering available information regarding a topic, interpreting the relevancy of the sources, and processing the information into an intelligent way of thinking about it. In order to write an analytical essay, you should learn about how to think and read critically. Analytical writing is not just about acquiring data, memorizing facts, or reiterating what someone else thinks, but is a learned skill that involves active participation by the individual to understand the topic well enough to write a balanced and well communicated paper. The ability to think critically is a skill that is required for finance management, because problem solving is needed throughout your finance career. Essays and papers that you will write in this course will require you to perform the task of first thinking critically about a specific topic before you begin to write about it.
Objectives:
The primary objective of writing a analytical essay is to make students develop their analytical abilities and develop the research habits. The other objectives are to harness your creativity, critical thinking ability and report writing ability and develop the teamwork. This is the opportunity to you to relate critically what you learned from the class with the real-world situation. This assignment will pull all essential concepts in finance together into a practical format. The efforts on the assignment will in the end provide you with confidence to apply tools of analyses and for making corporate financial decisions.
Analytical essay is all about going into the depths of the subject to be reviewed and discussing it objectively so that you get to know the subject better and in details.
How to write?
Analytical essay generally, focus on a subject or an event, or its features. Getting started on your analytical essay requires choosing a topic that is of interest to you. For your benefit, we are giving a list of topics and you may choose any one of your interest from the list. But, the selection of one topic by two groups in the same class is not allowed. This assignment will be done by a group of TWO TO THREE members only.
“Analytical writing depends on critical reading”. There is a certain way to process information you read or collected in order to complete an essay or paper. The key point is not to read for just information, but to look for unique ways of thinking about your topic. Remember, you are evaluating the information and making sure it accounts for the conclusions it contains. Afterwards, you are required to make your own judgments and create your own arguments based on the information that you have read. In addition, you may use Internet sources that are reputable. It is best to take short notes because then you can make certain that you are not copying down entire sentences from your sources and that it is your ideas that you are conveying, not a plagiarized copy of what you have read. Next, sort these notes according to the ideas on them and begin the first draft of your paper. The flow of your entire paper or essay is important. Your introductory paragraph should set the stage for what follows. In your final paragraph you should sum up your overall conclusions.
