Set-Up: Explain the argument that you will focus on in your paper, in no more than 5-ish sentences. (If you’d like to formalize it, you can.)
Development: Choose whether or not you will critique or defend the argument. Then answer the relevant question below, in no more than 7-ish sentences.
If you’re critiquing the argument, explain which premise (or premises) you think is false, and why. (You can also explain why plausible responses to your objection would not work.)
If you’re defending the argument, explain how someone might object to the argument (i.e. which premise they might think is false and why). Then explain why that objection does not work.
Double check: have you included an original argument, per the paper instructions in the syllabus?
