Management
Organizational management and leadership is an essential component of every organization that influences corporate practices and achievement. The leaders’ attributes have direct as well as indirect impacts on organizational performance. The researcher will, therefore, use different scholarly articles to understand the effect of leader humbleness on team creativity, performance, autonomy, and independence in the workplace.
The article “Can leader “humility” spark employee “proactivity”? The mediating role of psychological empowerment.” by Chen et al. (2018) plays a significant role in literature improvement. The article highlights humble leadership’s impact on employees’ proactive behaviors, with employee cognitive empowerment being the main moderator (Chen et al.,2018). Also, this article’s findings have a definite effect on the peoples’ level of understanding and bring new knowledge to the boundary situation of humble leadership.
Hu et al. (2018) also explore the connection between leader humility and creativity. The findings of this article will help employees become more creative to enhance the company’s long-term survival. The results will also educate companies on how to train leaders to view the employees’ shortcomings based on company growth, identify and reward the workers’ strengths and contributions. The article serves as an informative tool to educate the managers on the use of humility to bring massive difference among the employees with little power distance values to improve the company’s overall performance (Hu et al., 2018). The article also acts as an eye-opener to consider the societal, cultural difference in the role of humility among leaders. Besides, organizations can use this article’s findings to improve corporate leadership to promote employees’ proactive behaviors through psychological empowerment. All people in the management course can use the current study findings to improve their management skills and make them bolder. Specifically, after reading this article, leaders will enhance the employees’ intrinsic motivation and aggressive behavior through humble leadership. The report contains timely, informative, and reliable data that can help the researcher understand how to improve corporate performance by using humble leaders.
Liu et al.’s (2017) article “Why and When Employees Like to Speak up More Under Humble Leaders? The Roles of Personal Sense of Power and Power Distance” is a crucial piece of information for students undertaking a business management course. Precisely, the article’s content educates all types of leaders on the importance of humility in influencing the workers’ behavior. Lin et al. (2017) equip the leaders with the knowledge that humble behaviors among leaders, which occur when leaders appreciate and recognize employee contributions, become more powerful. As a result, they raise important ethical issues and suggestions to make the organization perform more effectively. This article’s content will help me, and other readers use the human resource practices like training to enlighten other leaders on the importance of humility and attributes, such as openness, self-awareness, and teachability when interacting with the subordinates.
In the article “How does leader humility influence team performance? Exploring the mechanisms of contagion and collective promotion focus”, the scholar researched to analyze how leader humbleness influenced the overall performance of the team. The findings prove that leaders should lead by example and illustrates clearly how specific actions affect team performance. Therefore, the current article will serve as a useful template for future scholars regarding diverse leadership traits. Owen and Hekman (2016) offer a well-researched, timely, and descriptive paper that has equipped me with essential skills in the importance of leadership traits in team performance, interactions, and emergent states. Therefore, the article will serve as an informative tool to guide my thinking on how the leaders’ humility influences them. Besides, this piece of work will determine my behavior as an organizational leader and equip me with the required skills to utilize humbleness as a tool to improve team performance, interactions, and emergent state.
Lastly, the researcher will also use the article “Understanding how leader humility enhances employee creativity: The roles of perspective-taking and cognitive reappraisal” by Wang et al. (20170 to understand the connection between creativity and leadership traits. The article offers unique information that addresses the gap in the effect of leader humbleness on the employees’ creativity. Besides, this article’s findings are essential since they provide evidence that perspective-taking is a mental process through which leader humbleness eventually impacts worker creativity. These studies’ outcomes will help develop creativity theory since it explores the interactions between emotions and cognition. The study proposes different leadership qualities like leader humility to increase worker creativity through increased perspective-taking and other individual factors like cognitive reappraisal. The findings of this article will help me enhance employee creativity once I enroll in different organizations. Using the skills acquired from this study, organizations can implement training interventions to improve leader humility to make the organizational leaders more open to the workers’ feedback and ideas, analyze themselves accurately and appreciate other people’s contributions and strengths.
The researcher will use these five articles to collect reliable data on the impact of leadership humbleness on the employees and overall organizations. The articles offer accurate, timely, and valid data on how leaders and organizations can use humility to improve employee performance.
