According to the Poetry Foundation, “an ekphrastic poem is a vivid description of a scene or, more commonly, a work of art. For your first post, Select one (1) artwork by either Agnes Martin, Joel Shapiro, or Andy Goldsworthy to write an ekphrastic poem in no more than 8 lines. Allude to one issues/concept associated with formalism such as the aesthetic experience, disinterestedness, decontextualization, aestheticization, or the sublime in your poem. Include an image or link to the artwork.
