Purpose:
Science goes far beyond simply memorizing facts and definitions. Scientists expand our knowledge of the natural world through carefully designed, controlled experiments, and they communicate their findings through written reports that are published in scientific journals. This assignment aligns with our course learning outcomes related to experimental design and introduces you to the format and technical writing style of a peer-reviewed, scientific article.

Task:
You will write a formal lab report based on Lab 3: The Scientific Method that follows the format and writing style of a scientific, peer-reviewed journal article. Your report will be divided into four sections: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Conclusions and must contain one bar graph based on the dataset from this lab. The dataset and bar graph are already provided on D2L from the data we collected in class, so you will be evaluated based on how you analyze the results and draw conclusions related to your hypothesis.
