Case Analysis Questions
Answer the following questions as indicated. Whenever possible, justify your responses with
case facts and examples from the textbook or lesson notes. Use proper referencing when quoting
from textbook or other course materials.
Number each question for marking purposes.
Cautions: * Keep in mind that cases are time-bound.
1 What is the problem that the decision maker is trying to solve? *5 marks*
2 What options does Labatt have at the time of the case to deal with the situation they are in
(HINT: Refer to the chapters on entry modes)? *15 marks* Try and provide as much
detail as you can for full marks.
3 Identify and describe FIVE evaluation criteria that Labatt should use to assess the options.
*5 marks* Why these five criteria? *5 marks* Assign weights of importance to each
criteria (the weights should total 100%) *2 marks*)
4 Using a table and numerical scoring, evaluate the options using the criteria from # 3
(include the weights in your calculations). *10 marks*
5 What should Labatt do? Why? *5 marks*
Include an executive summary of your answers to the questions above *5 marks*
Spelling, grammar, etc count for another *10 marks* Standard formatting as per the other
cases: 1 inch margins, 12 point font, etc, etc.
Proper citations and a reference list count for *10 marks* Note that references must be relevant
to the topic.
