More police officers (and other emergency response personnel) are killed during traffic related incidents than any other cause. Research, Police roadside safety and First responder roadside vehicle safety in order to familiarize yourself with this common yet extremely dangerous aspect of the law enforcement profession. Do not feel as though you need to limit yourself to just these two websites for the purpose of conducting research. You may also wish to explore these topics in the University library, Google Scholar and/or any other web based information sites you deem research worthy. Note: Be sure to cite your online sources in the “References” (or “Works Consulted”) at the end of the paper. Write a two-page (about 600 words) research paper in which you discuss the importance of roadside traffic safety for first responders. Some suggestions to help you get you started: Consider discussing, the importance of traffic safety, the nature of police work involving traffic incidents (traffic stops, accidents, disabled motorists), statistics, the hazards (texting while driving for example), any relevent policies or regulations, training methods, preventative measures or anything else you feel is important for your reader to know about this important topic.
