Compose a commentary report focusing on a prevalent issue within your chosen domain in the creative industries. Thoroughly examine the circumstances surrounding the identified issue, delving into its commonality within the industry, historical background, causative factors, and associated cultural implications.

Discuss the problems stemming from this issue, identifying stakeholders, and elucidating their respective perspectives. You may conduct interviews with the stakeholders or gather information from credible sources to explore acceptable business practices pertinent to your
chosen field and apply them in the context of the identified issue. Conclude your commentary with recommendations based on what actions you would take if you were the central figure in the scenario and justify your actions.

The steps outlined below can serve as your guide in analysing your case:

STEP ONE: UNDERSTAND THE SITUATION

1. Gather the facts and define the ethical issues
• What is the problem that the protagonist is facing?
• What makes it an ethical problem? Any organizational policies, procedures, legal constraints?
What are the relevant professional standards or codes at issue?

2. Explore Principles:
• What principles are relevant to this situation from the protagonist’s perspective?
• How do principles help clarify the moral tension felt by the protagonist?

• Who is affected? What principles do different stakeholders bring to this situation, and how does looking at this issue from their point of view generate new principles that needed to be considered?

• Is there a violation of an organizational policy, code, or human right?

3. Character: Analyse the characters and their choices:

• What choices does the protagonist have in this case and what might those choice say about him/her (me)?

• Who are the other stakeholders, and what is their perspective regarding their position and options.

• What would a person of my character do in this case? How can I act to clarify what I stand for especially if it contradicts your belief?
