Make an argument about the protagonist or the antagonist in Antigone or Othello.
Consider what motivates their character? How does this drive the plot?
Support your argument at least three citations from the text, plus a peer-reviewed literary critic.
Include a Counter-Argument. (This is an opportunity to cite a critic who does not agree with you.)
Follow MLA protocol precisely.
Your final draft must show significant signs of revision from the rough draft that must accompany your submission.

The Green-eyed Monster
Iago, the antagonist of the play, jealous of Othello’s power and respect from his peers, is driven to fabricate a plot to destroy him, that will lead to a tragic ending. The green-eyed monster of jealousy makes clear how much he envies Othello for having the power to influence over his career, taking away his opportunity of being the next lieutenant, and manipulates Othello into believing his wife is having an affair with his new lieutenant and friend Cassio, to settle his revenge.
Your challenge will be writing a counter-argument to those who claim it’s not jealousy but rather Iago’s sociopathic sick mind that does this for sport.
