“Real World” Writing Assignment (5 percent each/10 percent total): Online news items, newspaper stories, and magazine articles dealing with contemporary media law controversies bring the law to life and demonstrate how the law affects our day-to-day lives. For this assignment, you are required to find a relevant and contemporary media law topic or case coinciding with one of our class topics, and will write 1,000 word summary of the legal and/or ethical issues in the topic or case, giving both sides of the argument leading up to how you would resolve the case or issue.
