Basically there will be 3 questions given and u need to pick 2 and write 2 pages each as an answer method choose 2 out of 3 – 2 pages each (12 pt font, times new roman, standard margins, double spaced) There are three questions below as an example of what can come on friday. 1. -Discuss the idea that that the use of incarceration in Canada has resulted in: (i) widening, (ii) lengthening and (iii) deepening of “the net” (hint: explain each). What has led to this change in the use of incarceration? 2. Consider importance of community integration and/or reintegration in corrections. What is the challenge for CSC?. What does research tell us about effects of imprisonment, the use of parole and successful offender reintegration (on individuals, families and communities)? Use examples from film “High risk offender” to illustrate. 3. -Discuss the idea that the use of prison remains in structure, but the language has changed in regards to reform (recall: as Garland has stated, “our habitual use of prison” and always returning to “status quo”). Explain this idea in relation similarities and differences for certain groups in corrections– Indigenous people and women (can also talk about Indigenous women). Compare and contrast their situations and the measures for reform. What has been the impact of these reforms?
