Developmental Assessment Assignment
Students will write an APA-formatted paper on their clinical experiences. Students will identify a child within the program and develop their written assignment on the assessment of this child.
Part 1: Students will write a developmental assessment based on where you feel the observed child should be according to their chronological age in the areas of psychomotor, psychosocial, cognitive, and moral. Then, discuss where the child is according to your assessment (observation, conversation, interaction, teacher/staff report, chart information, etc.) include specific examples and as many sources as possible. Include any discrepancies between the chronological age and the developmental age.
Part 2: Write about the safety measure for this stage and write about next stage of development you expect these children to go into. What milestones do you expect them to master during the next stage in psychomotor, psychosocial, cognitive and moral development? What health promotion teaching would you include when speaking to the parents/caregivers of these children? What should parents/caregivers anticipate in the next developmental stage and how should parents/caregivers foster development in the next stage? What anticipatory guidance is necessary for safety issues for this child at the next developmental level?
Paper should be no more than 7 pages, APA format and include a reference page with at least 5 references.
This assignment will be turned in electronically on blackboard via “Turn it in” assignment, along with a hard copy to be handed in at the beginning of class on Friday, October 2nd. See grading policy for late submissions.
