You are working as a forensic investigator for the Iridium Electronics’ corporate security office and it has been two years since the investigation of Bob Robertson. Thanks to the results of that investigation, it was found that he had deliberately hidden proprietary company documents and was looking to use them to secure a position with a competitor. Though he was ultimately fined for his actions, Bob did wind up working for the competitor Strategic Electronics after all.
There is now concern that Bob is recruiting his friends and current employees from the company to join Strategic Electronics. There is an even greater concern that these employees would be willing to share confidential company information with Bob to secure a lucrative offer from Strategic. The company’s legal department has initiated legal action against Strategic and Mr. Robertson and secured a court order to image Mr. Robertson’s personal Android phone and Johnny Imager, another corporate security employee, has already performed the imaging (via Andriller and foroboto) and uploaded the images to the company evidence server. The court also ordered Bob’s phone to be “rooted” so that a full physical image (dd file) could be taken and Johnny has done that as well.
Please Perform The Following:
-Download the images onto an evidence work drive (a forensically sound evidence receptacle drive)
-Complete the necessary COC and Evidence Inventory forms
-Conduct a thorough investigation to find any evidence of contact between Bob and Iridium Electronics employees (including their identity) and any evidence that these employees might have shared (or are willing to share) confidential information with Bob. The company would also like to know how that information was transmitted to Bob if possible.
