Purpose/Aim (2-3 pages)– rationale-why is there a need to conceptualize the practice problem/practice issue in this way? You need to make a compelling case. Discuss what is already written about the subject. What this new paper will add to the literature. (Sections I & II to be submitted Week 7 – First Part of Conceptual Paper-20% of grade) Major Argument (4-6 pages) – develop a clear and plausible argument along with ample literature. In this section of the paper, you need to provide a clear argument/central thesis in the paper that is consistent throughout the document. You need to present logical, thorough, and compelling argument for proposed theoretical connections, relationships among constructs. Showing the links among concepts/constructs/bodies of knowledge and providing a theoretical explanation for the links. (Sections I through IV to be submitted for Workshopping (Paper Presentation)-Peer Feedback-10% and Reflection Paper- 20%) Implications (2-3 pages)– Please be thoughtful and provide a clear discussion that addresses the strengths and limitations of your theoretical argument, explore implications to clinical social work practice, policy, and research. Conclusion (paragraph-1page) – this section is not simply restating the points of your concept paper. You may summarize, but please use new language. Remind the reader how your empirically informed evidence has supported your aim.
