I am a teacher of English based in Switzerland. My students are aged between 17 and 19 years old and they have an upper-intermediate to advanced level of English (B2 – C1).
I am currently unable to type and I have to create a handout on the American society and customs, which would include some exercises, some reading texts, some links and questions on videos or audio extracts found on the internet, etc. for my class.
The handout would have to be organized around 3-4 aspects of the american society:
1) The national symbols of the USA
2) The US national holidays or special days and celebrations in the US
3) The Influences/Diversity in the US through music and culture
4) ?
Each of these four parts would represent about 90 minutes of teaching, so the handout would cover about 6 hours of teaching.
The aim of this handout is to teach Swiss students about American society in a fun and extensive way.
Each part (1-4) should include some images, some reading exercises, some listening exercises (or based on videos), some speaking exercises and some writing exercises (not exceeding 200 words).
The deadline would be for the beginning of december.
Please find attached to this form an example of one of the part (1-4) that was created on the geography of the USA to give you an idea. (please note that this example is not the complete handout on the geography of the US, but just one aspect of it. I represented about 90 minutes of teaching)
