You may not critique either of the two general programs described in this module. There are numerous Diversion programs throughout Canada.  You are welcome to utilize any of them, but the Diversion program must be Canadian and the authority for the program should be connected to the Criminal Code or the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

In an essay, analyze and critique the program, using the following headings as a guide.

Authority for Program – Criminal Code and YCJA sections
Specific purpose of program – what community and individual needs are addressed?
Clients served – who and how many?
Effectiveness of program – is success studied and recorded?
Analysis and Critique – what are your informed views about the value of this program?

References – at least 2 references are required
