In chapter eight planning and decision-making are discussed in detail. The synoptic plan uses a four step process. It is a rational approach to planning and may be used in many different settings. Submit a three to four page paper describing the planning process and create a fiver-year personal plan.

Part 1- Describe in detail the synoptic planning process.

Part 2- Create a personal five-year plan for yourself. This plan may include educational, employment or personal goals. Be specific in describing your goal and the steps or strategic process you will follow to achieve those goals.

The steps you take are your objectives and describe the how and when you will proceed to the next step. For example, do not simply state you plan to be a state trooper in the next five years, but describe in detail how you will be able to achieve that goal. Does it include earning a bachelor’s degree, getting experience as an intern, volunteering in your local town, where and when can you take the entrance examination, what about the physical fitness test, will you be prepared to pass that exam (what fitness routine are you following). You may include bullet-points or a chart to illustrate your plan and timeline.

Something about myself: I want to become a NJ State Trooper, I know in order to become a state trooper I have to pass the LEE and civil service test. I also know that you need to have a bachelor’s degree, right now i’m working on my associates degree and I would like to finish up my associates and forward my education at a 4 year college (TCNJ) or Rider Univ. to get my bachelor’s in criminal justice – law enforcement.
