Course Project: Development and Analysis
Overview
Case studies are used extensively in teaching business. Case studies can serve as an excellent resource for revising and adapting policies. Typically, students perform an analysis on a case study prepared by an author or the professor—in this instance, the student is the author of the case. The case study research strategy provides the opportunity to develop an in-depth understanding of an organization or event. Data can be collected from multiple sources (i.e., company websites, interviews, or published articles). Often, case studies provide evidence for establishing best practices, developing policies and procedures, and evaluating next steps.
In this project, you will select, develop, and analyze an in-depth case analysis. This project aims to utilize course concepts to strategically analyze an organization of your choosing from one of the cases. The Course Project will build on the skills developed by the case analysis assignments done throughout the course. You will select one case for all three parts of the Course Project.
The Course Project allows you to practice and apply specific strategic management skills learned in this course. The knowledge you have will assist you further with your professional or personal goals. The project is divided into three deliverables. You are encouraged to complete a section of your Course Project every week. This Course Project builds on each deliverable.
Note: You should start working on each section on the week the lesson material is covered.
- Deliverable 1 is due in Week 3.
