• Reflect on the role of creativity and data in problem solving
• Conduct a survey on your creativity style
• Reflect on how your creativity style (as assessed by yourself and others) affects your
decision making

Assessment Instructions
Answer the below questions with reference to your own experience, materials from the course and
at least 5 sources (especially for 1 and 2):
1. Creativity: What is creativity and what does it mean to you? Do you think it is a skill you are
born with or it can be developed? (100 words)
2. Data analytics: Do you believe data and data analytics can enhance creativity and reduce
bias in decision-making? Justify your opinion with reference to research. (200 words)
3. Your creativity style: Design a survey around your creativity style and preferences and based
on ten questions addressing the below issues from Weeks 1-3:
• Which stage in the creative process you like best/ are best at.
• Which four roles in problem solving are aligned to you. Which you feel you need to
improve on.
• Whether you believe you have a fixed or growth mindset and in what situations you have
these.
• How open to diverse ideas you think you are and how often you go out seeking and
trying to understand other diverse view-points.
• What is your process is for solving problems in your personal and professional life.
• How has moving to a different country affected your creativity ability and how do
emotions affect your creative ability. (10 questions)
Once you have designed your survey (in order)
1) Answer the questions yourself (do not change your answer later) (300 words)
2) Ask the questions of a family member, friend or colleague (about you) and document their
answers (300 words)
4. Reflecting: Reflect on a recent problem you have solve personally or professionally.
• How do you think your creativity style as assessed by you, your family and friends
affected your solution to this problem?
• Did you use a formal or informal framework? If you had used the framework from Week
2 to address this problem would your solution differ? Briefly consider the stages. (500
words)

creativity with reference to credible and contemporary
sources.

Survey Design a survey which reveals your creativity style,
problem solving process and openness to diverse
decision making.
Complete the survey honestly for yourself, administer it
to a friend, family member or colleague and summarise
the responses in a clear and concise way.

Reflection With reference to your surveys, research and a recent
problem you solved reflect insightfully on how your
creative process works in practice.
Investigate the framework(s) you use during problem
solving and how these relate to the frameworks covered
in the course.
Evaluate how your solution may have differed if you
applied frameworks covered in this subject.

Research and
Presentation
Evaluate and reference at least five relevant sources
(NOT including those provided) that inform and
enhance your reflection and analysis.
Address each section in a concise and clear way.
