People lie, cheat or steal for various reasons. Rationalization is a key motivator to this bad behavior: “they are stinking rich, so a little will not matter;” or, when an online college course cheater argues, “Online universities deserve cheating because they make cheating easy.” A culture that allows stealing or cheating is another reason that allows people to cheat and steal. In addition, an individual personal history of dishonest behavior, lack of control or supervision and stealing to benefit others are some other reasons that contribute to lying cheating and stealing. How can the cheating and stealing behavior that have infiltrated the general population be prevented. Lying is bad because it diminishes trust between humans. Generally, life would be very difficult if people do not say the truth, since no one could be trusted and any information read or heard could be trusted either. An untrusting environment is also bad for liars. Lying is a bad practice since it treats the victims as the means to realize the purpose of the liar, rather than as an important end itself. Lying makes it is difficult for the victim (the person being lied to) to make informed and free decision in relation to an issue at hand. It leads people to make decisions based on false information. In addition, lying cannot quality as a sensible universal principle. Some things are critically wrong – lying is among those things. Lying corrupts the lair. Telling a lie may become habitual and if an individual indulges in it regularly, he or she may become comfortable with wrong doings. According to religious tenets, God gave humans the ability to communicate so that they could share their thoughts accurately – lying does the opposite. Philosophers argue that people use language to make a contract effectively that is used in specific manner- deceitfulness is not one of these contracts.

On the other hand, cheating occurs when an individual deceives, acts dishonestly or misleads on purpose. For children, cheating may occur at home, while playing a sport, or at school. At school, cheating may happen when a child cheats on a test, or steal an idea belonging to someone else for a science project. When people engage in cheating, it disadvantages others, like children who studied for the rest or who were the actual winners of a contest or a game. Cheating is tempting because it makes complex issues look easier such as being able to answer all examination questions right. In various instances, cheaters seem to have figured it all. As a result, they can watch a TV program instead of studying or working. However, other people lose respect for cheaters. In addition, those who engage in cheating activities feel bad since what they have was not acquired using an honest means.  In addition, if one is caught cheating, he or she may be in trouble, at home, school or maybe at work.

Similarly, stealing is a wrong behavior because it can lead to incarceration of the thief and deprives the owners of the stolen property the right to enjoy its usefulness. Stealing jeopardizes the life of the robber or thief and ruins his or her reputation. A person who steals influences other people in a bad way. Stealing is associated with consequences that included being jailed or fined for stealing property that belongs to other individuals. Another reason why stealing is wrong is because it is forbidden, disrespectful and illegal. In the United States, thieves are prosecuted and if one is found guilty sentenced to imprisonment.

In conclusion, lying, cheating and stealing are not only non-ethical behaviors, but also unacceptable in many societies across the globe. Lying diminishes trust among humans and makes it difficult for victims to make informed decisions. In addition, lying corrupts the mind of the liar. Cheating allows an individual to deceive, mislead or act in a dishonest manner on purpose. It is wrong to cheat since it disadvantages others. Similarly, stealing is wrong since it is forbidden, illegal and disrespectful.
