Practical Assessment
Assessment Goal:
1. Infrastructure:
1. Design your IP addresses and VLANs
2. Configure the following plus others as required:
a. Voice VLANs
b. Data VLANs
c. DHCP server/s
d. TFTP server/s
e. NTP server
3. Configure routers to function as voice gateways to allow internal and external calls
4. Configure OSPF or EIGRP as routing protocol between the routers
5. Configure trunk and allowed VLANs on switches
6. Install a voice call management server
7. Configure IP phones to register using SIP to the voice call management server
8. IP Phones should be able to leverage Music-on-hold server at Melbourne site to provide
multicast MoH
9. Configure SRST on Sydney branch voice gateway for remote failover and readiness
2. System requirements and implementations:
1. Your system should have full connectivity among all devices
2. Your final configuration should be tested and assessed against the design requirements

3. You should save a backup of the voice call manager server using bulk administration tool
template for disaster recovery
4. You should disable the phone IP page from loading outside the local network
5. Enable SRTP for security of IP voice traffic
6. Configure a Wireless Access Point such that a softphone can leverage the secure wireless
network for voice calls using an app installed on the softphone
7. Configure QoS (Priority Queue) on the voice gateways between Sydney and Melbourne for
providing priority to latency sensitive traffic
8. Configure QoS on wireless access point to provide priority to voice traffic for voice calls
from the softphone to any of the SIP endpoints
9. Successfully test end-to-end voice connectivity
10. Successfully test end-to-end ICMP and data connectivity
11. Configure the softphone to leverage the MoH server to provide music-on-hold to any of
the SIP endpoints.
