Guidelines to the Lesson Reflective Presentation Assignment
[Individual – 15%]
• For this assignment, you will submit a reflective report in form of PowerPoint (PPT) on a
lesson performed before taking this course , i.e. TCDEE563. Your PPT should illustrate
deep thinking and significant analysis of your lesson under reflection.
• Your analysis and reflection must be guided by the major principles and practices studied so
far in the course. For example, you need to analyse and discuss the:
o teaching technique(s)/style(s) you applied in your lesson, students’ roles and
delivered learning experience.
o teaching approach that your performed lesson might reflect. You need to support this
with evidence from the practices you performed.
o principles and practices the performed lesson emphasizes & challenges that have
been recognised after the demonstration of that lesson.
o how this lesson can be better performed in future, what practices/principles to be
adopted and why?
• Your PPT should be mostly written in your own words. You are not expected to quote or
refer to ELT experts or authors in this regard, but if you feel the need to do so, then you
MUST follow the APA citation style. Improper use of APA style to statements, thoughts or
ideas will be considered a type of plagiarism and will negatively affect your total grade.
• Attach a copy of the original lesson plan for the lesson you did to this PPT.
• Your PPT should not be more than 15 slides in length.
• The deadline for your PPT will be announced later in the course. Any submission after the
specified date must be associated with an acceptable excuse otherwise grade will be
penalised with (-2 marks) for each day after the deadline.
• Your PPT should be submitted as a soft copy to your course professor.
• Rubrics for assessing this assignment are attached to this document.
