Assessment 1 – LO3 (250 words) (15%)
This is an individual assessment.
You are required to write a first-person reflection presenting your understanding of written and verbal communication in the digital age.
Areas of discussion within your reflection include the following:
- Explain how digital tools can be used for written and verbal communication
- How effective communication in the digital age is essential
- How effective communication can impact business success and failure
Your assessment submission must include a title page including the following information:
- Module code and Module Name
- Module Leader
- Student Number
- Total Word Count
- Assessment Submission Date
Assessment 2 – LO1& LO2 – (1,000 words) (60%)
This is a group assessment. Groups will be determined by your Module Leader.
“Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) are present in almost all fields of society. These tools have generated important changes and advances that have been introduced to our daily routines, slowly integrating into our everyday lives until, in some situations, we have come to depend on their use” (Llorent-Vaquero et al. 2020, p.1)
You are required to work in a group to develop a report discussing the role of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in the digital age.
You must demonstrate your contribution to the group report, exploring the following suggested structure for the assessment:
- Introduction
- The role of ICT in a range of business operations
- This may include management, finance, marketing and HR
- How ICT can be used for creating and exchanging knowledge
- How ICT can benefit business success
- Conclusion of key points
You are expected to utilise academic sources of information to support your knowledge presented in the report.

Assessment 3 – LO2-(10 mins) (25%)
An individual recorded an online presentation.
You are required to choose one type of communication and discuss its importance in a business environment.
You must consider the following areas when developing your presentation:
- Explore your chosen type of communication for at least 2 business operational areas (consider management, finance, marketing and HR)
- How the evolution of the digital setting has changed your chosen type of communication
- Explain at least 2 examples of when your chosen type of communication is important to business decision making
- The recording must include a visual presentation and voiceover
The presentation submission will consist of an individual recording of 10 minutes duration. This can be done using video recording software such as Microsoft Teams, Canva, using the recording function in PowerPoint or simply recording on your PC screen and narrating over the presentation using a mobile phone camera. Support for recording will be given during class time.
