Scenario 1. You are the Director of a Case Management Program. This program employs 22 case managers, one supervisor, and an office staff. You receive a call from the mother of one of the clients that you serve that her son’s case manager has not visited in several weeks. She expresses concern, as she has been reaching out to this case manager and is not hearing back. You let the family know that you will follow up with them.
You review the case manager’s documentation, and you see that the case manager has notes for visits to this family on a weekly basis for months. There is documentation of visits, units billed, and the notes are well written.
This is a case manager that is well respected by his co-workers, and you have had nothing but positive dealings with them in the past. In fact, this case manager has billed for units that any other this past year. His paperwork is always on time, well done, and he is a positive influence on his co-workers.
