Piping system layout

6. Avoid pipe velocities in excess of 10 ft/s.
7. Provide valves to isolate each pump (items 1 and 2 may do the job) and the chiller.
8. All pipes are to be schedule 40.

The following are needed:

1. Sketch of the actual piping system layout.
2. Schematic of the Hardy-Cross arrangement with all pipes and loops identified.
3. Diameters and lengths of all piping required. (To reduce complexity, a minimum of three pipe sizes can be specified. Supply and return lines can be a single diameter, piping on the fourth floor can be a single diameter, and piping on the remaining four floors can be a single diameter.)
4. Description (type) and location of each valve.
5. List of materials (diameters, lengths, valves, … ) required.
6. Increase in head and flow rate of all pumps required to balance the system for the specifications.
