Research and summarize a specific career path in the game design industry.What are the most common entry positions and connected training pathways? How do typical careers in the industry unfold? Research and provide an industry summary of a particular game studio or games industry-connected company (e.g., Sony Entertainment, EA, Epic Games). How is the company structured? What big issues does it face? Provide an overview of a particular genre of video game (such as serious games or first-person shooter games). What are the most popular? What features connect to game-play popularity?
Research and summarize an academic research issue. For example, scholars working on game addiction issues are interested in the connection between that and loot box monetization strategies; a good paper could lay out those issues. A paper could focus on a policy question (e.g., should the federal government create stronger guidelines for parents relating to their children’s social and gaming media diets?) or a research issue (e.g., is there good reason to believe first-person shooting games are more dangerous than others in triggering violence?). The essay should lay out the unfolding academic controversy and take a position about who you think is right, and why.
Requirements:
This essay should be ten pages, double-spaced, and no longer. That would come to roughly
2250 words total for the assignment. The first nine pages should consist of the paper text, and the content of page ten should be a reference list of the sources you consulted to draft the paper.

Use a title consistent with the assignment option, so I can easily tell what option you’re completing. Do not change the font or size of font or margins or the spacing I’ve picked between paragraphs.
4. Save the report in the DOCX file I’ve used for the template. That is, don’t convert it to something else (such as a PDF).
5. The best papers don’t just express your opinions, even if very thoughtful, but provide an evidence-based claim for your ideas. You’ll earn a higher grade by demonstrating that you dug deeper, and a clear way to do that is to list your sources at the end of the paper. For this assignment, you do not have to use a formal citation system like MLA or APA. You can hyperlink to the webpage you relied on, or just list other sources without needing internal citations or specific footnotes. Of course, if you end up quoting exactly from another source, use quotation marks and provide the citation as a way to confirm your academic honesty in using other materials.
Elements of a well written report:
a. The report shows evidence of a deeper exploration. It shows that some further research was done, as opposed to simply expressing your top-of-the-head opinion.
b. Good papers accurately report on the nuances of an issue, perhaps taking the form of a literature
review. Better papers defend an idea or claim or argument, and then back that claim up, while defending it against the smartest counter-argument. (The next page reproduces some good advice on writing an argumentative essay put together by the writing center at Purdue University). c. The essay should be well written. Use full noun- plus verb-sentences. Avoid sentence fragments.
Follow grammatical convention.
d. The form of the essay should be more like an op-ed piece in a newspaper than a private diary or journaling exercise. That is, your writing can be a bit personal, and certainly should deploy your own voice. But it should be persuasive to an undecided reader, which may require a more objective style and less reliance on first person language.
e. Comprehensively complete the assignment. For example, your essay might start by posing some
questions you are aiming to tackle. If that’s the case: make sure your essay ends up answering or addressing them all, and that you end up delivering on your promise
