The Brief/ Instruction
Select a company from the FTSE 100 index 2 that operates within the manufacturing or Telecoms sector to use as a case study.
Compile a project portfolio, making use of relevant reference sources, detailing the following:
1. Discuss how your chosen company can manage compliance with legislation and regulations within an ISO 14001 certified Environmental Management System (EMS).
2. Considering the range of activities undertaken by your chosen company, provide an analysis of what you expect their significant environmental aspects may be, including details on how and where these aspects come about, the nature of their effects on the local and global environment and how you have assessed their significance.
3. Based on these significant aspects, define some suitable objectives, targets and environmental management programmes that would be relevant to this company.
4. Provide a poster presentation detailing the above points in tasks 1, 2 and 3. The poster should be submitted via Turnitin by the deadline as shown above.
Assessment Criterias
1. Identification of relevant UK legislation and regulations
Discussion of how the company can manage compliance with the legislation and regulations using/applying specific ISO 4001 requirements/ clauses.
2. Identification and discussion of the company’s environmental aspects highlighting significant aspects with a clear evaluation to assess their significance and their impacts.
3. Setting suitable objectives and targets with the relevant actions/programmes to manage the aspects/impacts. Report presentation, quality of communication, research and Harvard style referencing.
4. Appropriate poster summarizing Tasks 1, 2 and 3.
