Select a nonprofit organization/group. It may or may not be SDSU-related. (Clear your choice with your lab instructor by 10/19.)
Identify ONE, specific media outlet that would receive your news release.
Write ONE sentence that states what the news release is about (the FOCUS).

Write a 500-word (minimum) news release for your organization/group/client based on a specific newsworthy event, achievement, activity, development, plan, proposal, etc.

Consult at least FOUR sources to obtain information for your news release. TWO of your sources must be human beings that you interview and TWO must be documents/databases/websites/social media platforms.

The non-human sources need not be included in the final story but your bibliography should explain what information you got from each that you used in your research. Use proper AP style for all attributions and adhere strictly to formatting requirements of news release. Visuals are highly encouraged though not required.

List bibliographic data for printed sources and list the person, time, place, date and length of your interview(s). (Number the sources.).

Submit your completed news release to your lab instructor along with all required bibliographic and ancillary information.
