You should use legislation, case law and academic commentary where appropriate to illustrate and analyse the legal concepts at issue. Content of the Report: The report should assess the needs and opportunities for the company in relation to some of the following areas of law that are relevant to the company: · Legal Liability re the use of Social Media · Legal liability re online defamation, online hate speech and online harassment · Legal liability re General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, 2018) and Data Protection Law. You are required to source relevant legislation, case law and academic commentary and critically interpret and apply this law to the live company’s business activities. You must also maintain detailed records of sources and meetings and present and defend your findings in the report. Deadline: 15 December 2025 – 6 PM Word Count: 3,500 words maximum to include footnotes but excluding bibliography. 10% of a student’s mark shall be deducted for exceeding the word count. Referencing: OSCOLA Referencing System only. Format: Word-processed only. Font must be black and not less than 12 points. (Please include a cover page and table of contents in your report. Your cover page should include word count, student names and student numbers.) Submission: via Moodle (Turnitin Plagiarism Checker) Marks will be awarded for the following: · Identification of the relevant legal issues, · Clarity in how those legal issues are laid out and discussed, i.e. logical layout, · Use of case law and legislation where relevant, · Application of the law to the live company, · Evidence of research conducted · Structure, writing style, presentation, spelling and grammar, conclusion reached · Correct use of OSCOLA Ireland Referencing System, · Bibliography – i.e., alphabetical list of legislation, case law, textbooks, journal articles and websites with separate headings for each section
