Your focus for your first formal paper is on John Cheever’s short story, “The Swimmer.” You will use the 5-paragraph model to create your paper and submit it. Of course, you may go more than 5 paragraphs if necessary. This is the model you learned to include:
Introduction: Includes your thesis and background material on the author/and or work to be examined.
Body paragraphs: Includes your evidence (use textual evidence to support your thesis), that is cite material and provide analysis. Body paragraphs should begin with a topic sentence (not a quote), citation, analysis and then a transition to move you to the next paragraph. (a minimum of three should be provided)
