The goal of this paper, and what distinguishes it from previous writing assignments, is to work with and across multiple texts and/or literary genres or, in the case of the Thucydides prompt, to work exclusively with multiple speeches within Thucydides (see prompts #1 below). You may incorporate any of the assigned literary works for this class into your thesis, with the exception of Homer (Iliad and Odyssey) and Aeschylus (Agamemnon and Eumenides) (i.e., we would like you to work with texts that you have not yet written on in this class). For this paper, you may not consult any sources beyond lectures, discussion sections, and the assigned readings. Your own ideas, developed from what you have learned in lecture, section, and in reading, are what matter. Also see attached file for important information
