To get a look at what Sociology is truly about, this week you will have a norm-violating assignment, or what is called a breaching experiment.
Norm-violating activities might include staring at a stranger in an elevator, standing a bit too close to someone at the supermarket, loudly burping in a public place, eating a type of food with your hands when you should be using utensils (spaghetti).
Be creative but not creepy with this assignment. Don’t scare anyone, and do nothing illegal! Make sure you notice the reactions of people around you.
You will post your breaching experiment and the reactions.
