The assignment is worth 50% of the overall mark for the module.

Broadly speaking, the assignment requires you to write a short report briefing a CIO on the strategy and governance implications of a technology trend.

The assignment is described in more detail in section 2.

This is an individual assignment.

Section 2: Task Specification

You have been asked by the CIO of your company to write a briefing note for her on the subject of an emerging technology trend. She expects the topic to be raised in a meeting with the CEO and needs to understand the implications of this technology trend for the business, together with any benefits and challenges deployment of the technology may raise. She has also asked you to consider how the technology should be managed in the business if deployed.

The briefing note should be no longer than 1000 words and should be aimed at a high-level business audience but not assume in-depth IT knowledge. The briefing note may be sent to the board members of the business.
