Using primary documents, distinguish the various political philosophies of Asia

Question: Using primary documents, distinguish the various political philosophies of Asia (how governments were told they should operate or how they legitimized their grip on power). Focus on how governments should gain power and/or how they should maintain power. criteria: Possible topics for final paper for ASIA 100. (worth 30% of your final grade) Your final paper for ASIA 100 has to be submitted to TurnItIn.com by midnight, Dec. 18. Below are three possible topics for that paper. Write a five-page paper on ONE of those three topics. Your paper must present an argument. You are not supposed to simply extract a sentence here and there from the assigned readings. Instead, you are supposed to take information you learned over the course of this term from the lectures, the discussions, and the assigned readings and use that information to formulate your own answer to the question you chose to answer. Remember, true information that is not relevant to your topic will not count. It will cost you points. And you will lose points if you show, by taking data out of context, that you didn’t pay close attention to the lectures or read the assigned readings carefully. To get a good grade, you have to answer the question directly and explicitly, using both correct and relevant information you have learned since September. And youβ€Œβ€β€β€β€β€Œβ€Œβ€Œβ€Œβ€Œβ€β€β€Œβ€Œβ€β€β€β€β€β€ have to show that you understand the material this course has covered. Moreover, you have to show that you know the difference between a primary source and a secondary source. That means you have to draw from at least two primacy sources in this five- page paper in addition to secondary sources. (Your personal opinions will only be accepted if they are supported by either primary or secondary sources, or by solid logical reasoning that is compatible with those sources.) The only sources allowed are the sources found in the modules, listed on the lecture and reading schedule, or available through the on-line course reserve for this class on Canvas. You will lose some serious points for the use of unauthorized sources. (Use of Wikipedia or a similar unauthorized website will automatically result in a failing grade.) You don’t need to support every point in your argument with a primary source. However, remember, you have to use at least two primary sources in your paper. You are required to refer to secondary sources as well, especially for points you make which are not supported by the primary documents. Whichever topic you chose, you have to discuss at least three regions of Asia. You may not find a relevant primary source for each region (we have a lot more primary sources for East Asia than we do for South Asia, Southeast Asia, or Central Asia). But, again, you have to draw on at least two primary sources. That means the actual translated documents themselves, not the introductions to them. One last point: don’t write about modern Asia. You won’t get any points for that. That an ASIA 101 topic. For this class, you are supposed to answer your question in regard to the period before 1700. And be sure to discuss at least one country for each of the three regions youβ€Œβ€β€β€β€β€Œβ€Œβ€Œβ€Œβ€Œβ€β€β€Œβ€Œβ€β€β€β€β€β€ discuss.
