The plight of the middle class, racial, ethnic and gender inequalities and disparities in the U.S. are real and not imagined. Social inequality is the existence of unequal opportunities and rewards for different social positions or statuses within a group or society. Marger (2013) presents… “that the uneven distribution of social resources … produces an inequality of condition, and variations in peoples actual living conditions…. Max Weber referred to the opportunities that people have to acquire social resources as life chances.
