Assessment Task:

You have recently been appointed as an academic coach at Regent College due to your exceptional performance in your first semester. As part of your new role, you have been asked to produce a portfolio to support a new pilot scheme aimed at assisting students in avoiding common pitfalls in academic integrity and develop stronger study skills.

This portfolio will be published to students and staff across all areas of Regent College and should be based on your own academic experience and show how you have improved your academic integrity.

Assessment Task:

Task 1

You have been given guidelines on what the contents of the portfolio must include:

Define Academic Integrity and explain why it is a core principle in higher education institutions. (20 marks)

Discuss the key differences between plagiarism and collusion.

                                                                                                                        (20 marks)

Explore the consequences of Academic Misconduct for the following:

Students

Institutions, and the value of qualifications.

Use real or hypothetical examples to support your answers. (20 marks)

Identify and describe at least three academic skills that students can use to maintain Academic Integrity and avoid Academic Misconduct. (20 marks)

Task 2

Using Atkins and Murphys’s model of reflection, reflect on your personal learning journey at Regent College so far. Consider the challenges you have faced, what you have learned from them, and how you have grown academically.
