Online or in person?

What matters most in tutoring is the tutor’s skill and how well they fit your child. Online lessons give you a much bigger choice of tutors, flexible times and no travel.

When online works best

  • Students aged about 11 and up who can focus on a screen
  • Exam preparation, essay feedback and problem-solving
  • Families with busy schedules or no local specialist

When in person may be better

Younger children, students who struggle to concentrate on screens, and some hands-on subjects can benefit from face-to-face lessons. Many NoteStore tutors offer both.

Set up for success

Test the video link before the first lesson, keep phones in another room, and ask the tutor to share notes after each session.
