Assessment Description

Under the broad umbrella of “Supply Chain Management” this assignment will be based around the current situation within the United States and the continuing difficulties around the supply and distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during the Covid19 Pandemic.

Your task is to identify and analyse the logistics and supply chain channels of PPE globally with a specific focus on the US. You are expected to identify the associated linkages back to the theory you are studying in LB5230- Managing Strategic Resources and Operations.

This assignment requires you to research and analyse the following:

1. Supply chain logistics of PPE globally prior to the Covid19 pandemic and the effect of border closures on the distribution of PPE during the pandemic.

2. The current situation within the US as it relates to PPE and the circumstances that has led to the shortage for front line health workers.

3. Analyse and critically discuss the response to the pandemic of the US federal and state governments and the distribution of PPE domestically within the US.

4. Provide recommendations and solutions that will mitigate problems from recurring during future pandemics.
