4,000 words, planned

The Extended Essay has a 4,000-word limit and is graded A to E. Together with Theory of Knowledge it can add up to three points to your diploma score.

Narrow it down

A good research question is specific enough to answer in 4,000 words with evidence you can actually get. If your question needs a book to answer, narrow it.

Write the question, then ask: what evidence would answer this? If you can’t list it, rewrite the question.Margin note from Aisha
